Saintpaulia ionantha subsp. grotei, which is native to Africa (as the name suggests) in Kenya and Tanzania, is a tender, herbaceous, flowering perennial for indoor use that grows up to 15 cm tall and up to 30 cm wide. It can be multi-stemmed but usually grows as a single-crowned plant. It has purple flowers and medium-sized, green, slightly serrated and quilted leaves. African violets thrive in a bright, warm and moist location. Make sure that the leaves do not come into contact with water as this will leave brown spots. Remove dead flowers and leaves as soon as you see them to encourage a healthier plant. Check the soil and the plant regularly to ensure that no dead leaves accumulate. This promotes rot.

Offered are plants from own collection & foliage propagation; not over-fertilised therefore robust & top healthy (100% organic quality over quantity!), in time it will form some side plants (these can be re-potted separately over time); potted in self-mixed permeable organic substrate (repotting only desired in 2-3years); not hardy, relatively easy to care for, bright (but not directly sunny) location; enjoy your new unique Saintpaulia ionantha subsp. grotei!
