Coelogyne Memoria W. Micholitz
Coelogyne Memoria W. Micholitz is the hybrid cross between Coelgyne mooreana x Coelgyne lawrenceana. This hybrid is characterised by its large, white, attractively scented flowers and long flowering period. The genes of Coelogyne mooreana come through strongly here too, as is often the case, and improve the flowering habit of the otherwise rather hesitant Coelogyne lawrenceana, which normally only opens two to three flowers in succession. The two parent species were imported by Wilhelm Micholitz for the Sander nursery, which made the first cross in 1951.
