Passiflora Vitifolia
The passionflower (Passiflora vitifolia), also known as the crimson passionflower or red passionflower, is a tropical vine from Central and South America. It is valued for its striking red flowers, which can reach a diameter of up to 12 cm, and for its vine-like growth. The plant's lobed, vine-like leaves resemble vine leaves, hence the species name ‘vitifolia’. It also produces edible fruit, but is mainly cultivated for ornamental purposes. The passionflower thrives in warm, sunny locations and is often cultivated in gardens or as a greenhouse plant.
