The natural habitat of Homalomena rubescens is in tropical and subtropical Asia/South America; can grow up to 1m high; at first glance it looks like a philodendron (but it is not...).

One of my mother plants from my plant collection; potted in a well-drained, self-mixed organic substrate; repotting only desired in 1 year; beautifully pure green leaves with a wine-red stem; over time it becomes quite vigorous; not over-fertilised - thus robust & top healthy (100% organic quality before quantity!). ); the plant is rather for a semi-shady location (please avoid direct sun), it grows very well at the window (from May no south window - there it becomes too sunny for it) above the heating; 1x a month to shower off the leaves does the plant very well. Enjoy your new plant beauty - Homalomena rubescens!
