Echinocactus Grusonii Albispinus - also known as "mother-in-law's seat"; with white (instead of yellow) spines; with a diameter of about 15cm & a height of about 10cm; from own cactus collection; slowly grown over several years from a small plant; no greenhouse culture; as cactus for a (very) sunny location / avoid waterlogging; not overfertilised, therefore top healthy and robust (100% organic quality over quantity! ); potted in a self-mixed, permeable organic substrate specially adapted for cacti; repotting only desired in 2-3 years; slow-growing; winter dormancy desired at around 15C with very little watering; a "statement" / collector's plant as a "life companion"; enjoy your new Echinocactus Grusonii Albispinus!

Originally from Mexico, especially from areas in the states of Hidalgo and Querétaro; the botanical species name "grusonii" is said to be an allusion to the Magdeburg entrepreneur and inventor Hermann Gruson (1821-1895), who owned the largest cactus collection in Europe at the time. In 2008, the mother-in-law's seat was voted cactus of the year.
