Stapelia Leendertziae from our own succulent collection; from our own propagation - division of the mother plant - or fully established & grown head cuttings; originating from Africa (where it is even partly considered an invasive plant); becomes quite compact over time; potted in well-drained, self-mixed organic substrate in a clay pot; repotting only desired in 1-2-3 years, not over-fertilised, therefore robust & healthy (100% organic quality over quantity! ), slow-growing, already flowering in 1-2 years, not hardy, for a semi-shady - but still sufficiently bright location, please avoid waterlogging; enjoy your new Stapelia Leendertziae!

"Love stinks", at least when Stapelia Leendertziae is in flower. It bears beautiful, eye-catching, red and yellow striped flowers with white fringes, the pattern of which you can lose yourself in. However, if you bend down to smell, you will be surprised to discover a smell of rotting flesh. This is how the stapelia has evolved to attract its native pollinators, the flies! It likes to form clumps and flowers from spring to autumn, but it really comes into its own in summer when each new plant bears one of its large flowers, which are sure to impress.
