Euphorbia Platyclada
Euphorbia Platyclada - Rare Succulent Beauty | Organic Collection | TOMs FLOWer CLUB
Discover the extraordinary charm of Euphorbia platyclada, a unique succulent originally from Madagascar, prized for its architectural form and slow, elegant growth. This rarity comes from our own collection, propagated from mother plants and carefully grown from cuttings over 3-4 years, ensuring robust health and collector-quality integrity.
Unlike many succulents, Euphorbia platyclada produces small, yellow, inconspicuous flowers, and over time it develops side shoots, creating an increasingly striking composition. The plant is organically grown, not overfertilised, and potted in a self-mixed, highly permeable organic substrate, guaranteeing strong roots and natural growth. Repotting is only recommended every 2-3 years.
This succulent thrives in sunny locations, prefers dry conditions, and is easy to care for if waterlogging is avoided. It is not hardy and should be kept above 10-15°C, making it ideal as a statement plant for warm indoor or protected outdoor spaces.
Fun Fact
The genus name Euphorbia is derived from Euphorbos, a Greek physician from the 1st century AD. In 1753, Carl Linnaeus named the genus in his honour. And yes - despite looking like a cactus, euphorbias are not true cacti.
