Ludisia discolor, also known as the Jewel Orchid. It's a unique terrestrial orchid species native to Southeast Asia, including China, Thailand, and Indonesia. Unlike many orchids prized for their flowers, Ludisia discolor is primarily grown for its striking foliage. Velvety, dark green to purplish-brown leaves with gold or red veins and red undersides are just a highlight for each plant collection. Don’t you think so?
Once it starts flowering - its small white flowers with yellow anthers are just charming. The plant has a creeping rhizome, producing stems that can grow up to 30 cm long and around 20 cm tall. This orchid is relatively easy to grow. It prefers bright, indirect light, consistently moist but well-draining soil, and average humidity levels. Easy to propagate from stem cuttings.

Offered as a "plant family" with a diameter of round 30/40cm; not over-fertilised, therefore robust & healthy (100% organic quality before quantity! ), not hardy, also suitable for bright/semi-shady locations (please avoid direct sunlight), planted in self-mixed substrate especially suitable for this kind of orchids (the plant does not need to be repotted for the next 1-2 years); spray frequently with (rain)water; enjoy your new Ludisia Discolor!
