Pelargonium tomentosum, also known as Felty Scented Geranium or Mint Geranium, a strong minty scent. The plant is known for its intense minty aroma, reminiscent of fresh peppermint.

Pelargonium tomentosum comes from South Africa and belongs to the geranium family. It is characterised by its hairy, grey-green leaves that have a soft, felt-like texture. The leaves are often lobed or serrated and give the plant an attractive appearance.

As far as care is concerned, Pelargonium tomentosum prefers a sunny to semi-shady location. It thrives best in well-drained, sandy soil. Watering should be moderate to avoid waterlogging as this can lead to root rot. The plant tolerates drought quite well, so it is better to let the soil dry slightly between waterings.

In summer, Pelargonium tomentosum can benefit from regular fertilising. A balanced, water-soluble fertiliser for houseplants can be used, following the instructions on the packaging.

Pelargonium tomentosum can be cultivated outdoors as a perennial or as an indoor plant, depending on the climate. However, it should be protected in cold temperatures as it is sensitive to frost.

Regular pruning of the plant promotes compact growth and a bushy shape. Withered inflorescences should be removed to stimulate flower formation and improve the appearance of the plant.

Pelargonium tomentosum is an attractive plant with an intense minty fragrance that makes a pleasant accent in your garden or home. With the right care and attention, you will have many years of enjoyment from this mint geranium.
