Oeceoclades maculata, also known as the monk's orchid or African spotted orchid, is a distinctive orchid species native to regions of Africa, including West Africa and the Indian Ocean islands. Known for its pseudobulbs and uniquely patterned leaves, this terrestrial orchid thrives in a variety of environments, from forests to grasslands. The orchid produces small, attractive flowers in shades of green, yellow and brown. Cultivated by orchid enthusiasts, Oeceoclades maculata prefers warm, humid conditions and can be grown in pots.
