Mammillaria Marksiana – Rare Yellow-Flowering Cactus | Premium Collector’s Plant

Discover the unique beauty of Mammillaria marksiana, an exceptional cactus species originating from the regions of Durango and Sinaloa in Mexico, where it grows at elevations between 400 and 2,000 metres above sea level.

This striking cactus stands out with its bright green body, contrasting snow-white wool, delicate yellow spines, and especially its rare, vivid yellow to yellow-white-green flowers. Within the Mammillaria family, very few species display such an intense yellow bloom, making it a true highlight for collectors and cactus enthusiasts.

The plant typically develops a flattened, globular form and can reach approximately 6–10 cm in height and 5–12 cm in diameter in its natural habitat. Under cultivation, it can grow even larger and, given optimal conditions, may form attractive clusters over time, although it often remains solitary.

Its surface is structured with distinctive pyramidal tubercles, each adorned with fine white wool, particularly dense around the flowering zones, adding to its декоратив appeal.

Premium Quality – TOMs FLOWer CLUB
This plant is cultivated with care and without over-fertilisation, ensuring a naturally strong, healthy, and long-living specimen. The focus is on organic, sustainable growth — quality always comes before quantity.

Care & Cultivation
Mammillaria marksiana is an easy-care and reliably flowering cactus, ideal for both beginners and experienced collectors. It prefers:

  • Bright light with some direct sun (indoors or outdoors)
  • A very well-draining, highly mineral substrate
  • Regular watering during the growing season (avoid overwatering, as it is sensitive to rot)
  • Dry conditions during winter dormancy
  • Protection from frost

Important: Water should be applied directly to the soil, avoiding the plant body, as moisture can damage the delicate white wool.

In strong light, the cactus may develop a slightly yellowish tone, which is a natural response and often promotes flowering as well as denser wool and spine formation.

With proper care, it can slowly develop into a beautiful clumping specimen over the years.

Enjoy your new Mammillaria marksiana – a rare and eye-catching addition to any cactus collection.
