Ficus arnottiana belongs to the Moraceae family - native to southern India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, the Andaman Islands, Thailand and the western Himalayas - in its natural habitat it grows in dry deciduous forests - the trunk can reach a diameter of 30-40cm, the entire plant can grow up to 10m high - from own seed - can also be grown as a bonsai tree; potted in self-mixed permeable organic substrate (repotting only desired in 1-2 years - not overfertilised, therefore top healthy and robust (100% organic quality before quantity!) - not winter-hardy - for a light to half-shady location - showering the leaves once a month is very good for the plant - in winter dormancy (the leaves partly fall off).
