Fatsia japonica: The Classic Green Beauty from Japan

Fatsia japonica, originally hailing from Japan (hence "japonica"), is a close relative of ivy. This elegant plant grows bushy, with its trunk gradually lignifying over the years, and can eventually reach impressive heights of several meters. It's an excellent choice even for plant beginners due to its resilience and low-maintenance nature.

This particular Fatsia japonica has been cultivated outdoors, ensuring robust health and natural growth—no greenhouse culture involved! Potted in a self-mixed, permeable organic substrate and never overfertilized, it embodies 100% organic quality over quantity. The plant requires no repotting for the next 1–2 years, or you can plant it out in spring to give it ample time to establish and grow strong.

It thrives in partial shade and doesn’t demand full sun. Showering its lush, leathery leaves 1–3 times a month is beneficial and helps keep it vibrant. While the plant is winter-hardy to an extent, placing it near a sheltered wall offers optimal protection during colder months.

Enjoy your new classic green Fatsia japonica and the timeless charm it brings to your space!
