Lemaireocereus pruinosus – also known in Mexico as Pitayo de Octubre – is a majestic columnar cactus with a silvery-blue stem covered in a natural waxy layer that protects it from the strong desert sun. Native to Mexico’s warm, semi-arid regions, this cactus grows in candelabra-like form and is cultivated for its delicious, edible fruits that ripen in autumn.

At TOMs FLOWer CLUB, our Lemaireocereus pruinosus plants are organically grown from our own collection, cared for with minimal fertilization and potted in our self-mixed, well-drained cactus substrate. Each plant measures approx. 15–20 × 10 cm and is fully established.

This species thrives in very bright, sunny locations and prefers to stay on the dry side. Water moderately during the growing season (March–September) and keep completely dry in winter. Ideal for indoor collections or outdoor placement in warm climates above 10–12 °C. With its sculptural grey-green columns and fine spination, L. pruinosus adds an architectural and exotic accent to any cactus collection.
