Oxalis bowiei ‘Amarantha’ – the poetic charm of pink elegance

Oxalis Bowiei Amrantha – also known as Bowie’s Wood Sorrel – is a rare and elegant ornamental plant native to South Africa. With its clover-like, glossy green leaves and its intense magenta-pink blooms, this variety brings a touch of pure floral poetry to your home or garden.

The plants offered at TOMs FLOWer CLUB come with 3–5 tubers per pot, fully established and organically grown from my own propagation. Not over-fertilised, therefore robust and top healthy – 100% organic quality before quantity! – grown in a well-drained, self-mixed organic substrate, perfectly adapted to bulbous plants. Repotting is only desired in 1–2 years.

Oxalis bowiei ‘Amarantha’ thrives in bright, indirect light to full sun, where it reveals its most vibrant flower colour. It enjoys moderate watering – please let the soil dry slightly between waterings and avoid waterlogging. During rest periods, the leaves may retreat, but will reawaken once warmth and light return.

This lovely species is easy to care for and well suited for both indoor and outdoor cultivation (in a frost-free place). Its pink blossoms and tender leaf structure give an enchanting, almost fairy-like atmosphere – a small piece of natural magic that feels re-born every day.

Enjoy your new Oxalis bowiei ‘Amarantha’ – a plant of poetic beauty and resilience.
