Aloe arborescens 'Aurea Variegata' – Rare Variegated First Aid Aloe
A genuine Aloe arborescens in the particularly attractive and unusual 'Aurea Variegata' form, with succulent, fleshy leaves beautifully marked by yellow-golden variegation.
Aloe arborescens is the larger, stem-forming relative of the familiar Aloe vera and is traditionally known as the “First Aid Aloe”, particularly because the fresh leaf gel has long been used in traditional plant-based care for minor burns and skin injuries. Here, however, the real attraction is the plant itself: its architectural growth, juicy leaves and distinctive golden variegation.
This specimen comes from my own succulent collection and has been carefully cultivated over time. It has not been pushed with excessive fertiliser and is therefore a healthy, robust and naturally developed plant. At TOMs FLOWer CLUB, 100% organic quality comes before quantity. The leaves have not been treated with sprays, leaf-shine products or other cosmetic preparations.
The plant is already potted in TOM's own self-mixed, highly permeable organic substrate. Repotting is therefore only necessary in approximately 2–3 years, unless you specifically wish to repot it earlier.
Aloe arborescens 'Aurea Variegata' wants a very bright to sunny position. Good drainage is essential and waterlogging should be avoided. From April to October, it can very much enjoy a sunny outdoor stay, for example on a balcony or terrace, provided temperatures are suitable.
It is not winter-hardy. At TOMs FLOWer CLUB, this Aloe arborescens is overwintered in the winter garden and kept considerably drier during the colder, darker months.
With its fleshy leaves, developing stem and unusual golden variegation, Aloe arborescens 'Aurea Variegata' is a genuine statement plant – an eye-catching addition to a succulent collection and a particularly beautiful form for anyone who appreciates naturally cultivated variegated plants.
Enjoy your new Aloe arborescens 'Aurea Variegata' – a plant with plenty of character that will certainly become an eye-catcher in your collection.
