This Cryptanthus bivittatus ‘Rubin Star’ was grown from a small seedling and cultivated with an emphasis on natural, healthy development.

At TOMs FLOWer CLUB, we do not use chemical sprays or artificial fertilisers for this plant. It is cultivated in a carefully selected, permeable orchid substrate that provides both excellent drainage and good root aeration.

Because Cryptanthus is relatively slow-growing, repotting is generally not necessary for approximately 2–3 years, provided the plant remains healthy and the substrate continues to drain freely.

Quality before quantity.

Light & Location

‘Rubin Star’ prefers a bright to semi-shaded location with indirect or filtered light.

Avoid strong, direct midday sunlight, particularly behind glass, as intense sunlight can scorch the foliage and may cause the colours to fade.

Good filtered light, however, is important for maintaining attractive foliage coloration.

Watering & Humidity
