Dendrobium Sa-Nook ‘Polar Fire’ – Elegant Orchid with White & Purple Flowers

Dendrobium Sa-Nook ‘Polar Fire’ is a beautiful Dendrobium hybrid with striking two-coloured flowers combining white and purple/violet tones. The flowers are carried on elegant inflorescences and can remain attractive for several weeks.

Unlike the familiar Dendrobium nobile types, ‘Polar Fire’ belongs to the Phalaenopsis-type Dendrobium hybrids and is cultivated as a warm-growing orchid. It is therefore well suited to a bright, warm position in the home.

The plant develops upright pseudobulbs with elongated, dark-green leaves and can produce new flower spikes from mature growths.

Care Instructions:

  • Light: Place in a bright location with plenty of indirect light. Some gentle morning or evening sun is beneficial, but protect the plant from strong midday summer sun behind glass.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly when the orchid substrate has become nearly dry, then allow excess water to drain away completely. Avoid keeping the roots permanently wet.
  • Humidity: Around 50–70% is suitable. Good air circulation is more important than simply maintaining very high humidity.
  • Temperature: Ideally keep between approximately 16–28 °C. This is a warm-growing Dendrobium and should be protected from cold temperatures and frost.
  • Summer: During warm weather, the plant can benefit from spending time outdoors in a bright, sheltered position, provided temperatures remain suitable.
  • Fertilising: Feed moderately during active growth with a suitable orchid fertiliser. There is no need to push the plant with excessive fertilisation.
  • Repotting: Repot only when necessary, preferably when the orchid begins producing new roots. A well-drained orchid substrate is essential.

Special Notes:

Our Dendrobium Sa-Nook ‘Polar Fire’ plants are organically cultivated in a well-drained, self-mixed orchid substrate. The plants are well established and have been cultivated with attention to healthy roots and balanced growth rather than being excessively fertilised.

Depending on the season, you will receive a well-established plant either shortly before flowering or after flowering. The exact flowering stage therefore depends on the natural growth cycle of the plant at the time of purchase.

The spent flower spikes should not automatically be removed while they remain green and healthy, as mature Dendrobium can sometimes continue to use these structures. However, completely dry or dead flower spikes can be removed.

Propagation: Division of the established mother-plant clump, where sufficiently developed.

The white and purple flowers of ‘Polar Fire’ give this orchid a particularly elegant appearance, while its relatively straightforward care makes it suitable both for experienced orchid growers and for someone wanting to move beyond the classic Phalaenopsis.

You receive the Dendrobium Sa-Nook ‘Polar Fire’ plant of the displayed size, cultivated in well-drained orchid substrate.
