Gloriosa Superba Rothschildiana – The Exotic Glory Lily for Your Home

The Gloriosa Superba Rothschildiana – also known as the Glory Lily – is an impressive summer plant that catches all eyes with its fiery red, flame-like flowers, which are yellow at the base. This fascinating climbing plant is also perfect as a cut flower for a vase.

Care Instructions:

• Location: The Gloriosa thrives in a partially shaded but bright spot with a humidity level of at least 60%. The plant loves warmth – temperatures should not drop below 15°C  both day and night.
• Summer Care: In summer, the plant can be placed on a protected spot on the balcony or terrace. During the entire growing season (spring to fall), the Gloriosa should be kept consistently moist – avoid waterlogging as this will cause the tubers to rot.
• Winter Dormancy: In the fall, reduce watering, and once the plant has died back, you can stop watering completely. The tubers overwinter at a constant temperature of 15°C.
• Repotting: The Gloriosa is planted in self-mixed substrate. Repotting is not necessary until its winter dormancy. That's also when you can divide the tuber and replant it for the next year's growth.
