Pelargonium Denticulatum
Pelargonium denticulatum – Aromatic Pine-Scented Geranium
Discover the rare and highly fragrant Pelargonium denticulatum, also known as the pine geranium, from our organically grown collection at TOMs FLOWer CLUB. Native to South Africa, this shrubby perennial is known for its finely divided lacy leaves that release a refreshing pine-like scent when touched – a true sensory experience for every plant lover.
Characteristics
Pelargonium denticulatum grows up to 1 meter tall, forming a woody base with elegantly dissected, feather-like foliage. In spring and summer, it produces charming small flowers in lavender to pale purple tones, adorned with dark veining on the upper petals. The distinct foliage scent and delicate blooms make it a perfect addition to any balcony, herb garden, or container display.
Care
This plant thrives in full sun to light shade and prefers a well-drained, sandy or loamy organic substrate. Like all pelargoniums, it is not frost-hardy, so it should be overwintered in a frost-free place, such as a cool conservatory or bright indoor area. Water sparingly and allow the soil to dry out between waterings to prevent root rot.
