Sansevieria Sawasdee is a hybrid cultivar of the Sansevieria genus. While the exact parentage of this variety isn't widely documented, Sansevieria plants are native to tropical and subtropical regions of Africa, Madagascar, and parts of Asia. It is believed that Sansevieria Sawasdee was developed in Thailand, as "Sawasdee" is a common Thai greeting, hinting at its origins.
This hybrid was likely created by crossing different Sansevieria varieties to enhance its unique appearance and hardiness, making it a popular ornamental plant worldwide. Like other Sansevieria species, it thrives in low light, tolerates drought, and is known for its air-purifying qualities, making it a great choice for indoor environments.
For sale is a very beautiful, well-established mother plant from my own Sansevieria collection, with a 20cm span of the plant fan. It features elegant dark green leaves, and has not been over-fertilised (100% organic quality over quantity!). No rapid greenhouse cultivation here—this plant grows slowly (with a winter dormancy period) and is not hardy. Ideal for bright, sunny locations, but be sure to avoid waterlogging. It’s planted in well-drained Sansevieria soil, and re-potting will not be needed for the next 2-3 years.
All my Sansevieria plants (over 100 species) are grown slowly, without heavy fertilisation, and with a natural winter growth break. As a result, they are very healthy, robust, and simply look natural. While Sansevierias are not hardy, they are excellent air-purifying plants that can increase oxygen levels in your home.
