Zygopetalum Ariane Hybrid Orchid - Fragrant Violet-Green Orchid Beauty
A beautiful and rather unusual Zygopetalum hybrid with strongly scented violet-green flowers – offered as a fully established plant from my own orchid collection.
Zygopetalum Ariane is particularly rewarding for orchid lovers who appreciate fragrance as much as unusual flower colour. The flowers combine distinctive violet and green tones with a strong, pleasant fragrance, making this orchid a real pleasure not only to look at but also to experience.
The plant has been cultivated slowly and carefully at TOMs FLOWer CLUB. It has not been over-fertilised, resulting in robust, healthy growth and what I consider more important than rapid production: 100% organic quality over quantity.
The orchid is grown in my own self-mixed, permeable orchid substrate. It is already well established and should not require repotting for approximately the next 2–3 years, provided the substrate and plant remain healthy.
Zygopetalum Ariane is not hardy and should be protected from frost and freezing temperatures. Unlike many orchids that demand intense light, it is well suited to a bright or semi-shady position. Avoid direct, strong sunlight, particularly behind glass, as the leaves can be damaged by excessive sun.
During the warmer months, from approximately May to October, the plant can also enjoy a stay outdoors in the garden or on a balcony, provided it is placed in a bright but NOT directly sunny location and protected from cold temperatures.
Zygopetalum appreciates regular moisture and high humidity. Spray the foliage and surrounding plant environment frequently with rainwater or other low-mineral water, while avoiding permanently waterlogged substrate.
This is a plant for someone who wants more than a conventional flowering orchid: a well-established, strongly fragrant Zygopetalum with unusual violet-green flowers, cultivated individually from TOMs FLOWer CLUB's own orchid collection.
You will receive the displayed plant family. Depending on the season and the individual flowering cycle, the plant may be offered before, during or after flowering.
Enjoy your new fragrant orchid beauty – Zygopetalum Ariane Hybrid Orchid.
