  • Propagation of Ceropegia woodii through cuttings

Propagation of Ceropegia woodii through cuttings
Ceropegia woodii is an easy-to-care-for houseplant and therefore ideal for beginners. The plant, which is also sold under the name rose vine, belongs to the succulents and is very easy to propagate yourself. This is how you grow the new plant. You can cut cuttings during the entire growing season. However, spring is particularly suitable.

Prepare normal garden soil and mix it with a little sand. Allow the cut ends to dry for a day or two before inserting the shoots into the substrate.

    Have fun with it!

  • CALADIUM TIME

    CALADIUM TIME

Caladiums are tropical perennials from tropical forests in South and Central America. The plant has been cultivated in Europe since the late 1700s. It belongs to the Arum family (Araceae) and is used as an ornamental plant. The large, heart-shaped leaves of the Caladiums can have wonderful colour combinations.
The plants love it warm and humid (indoors you can shower them regularly with lukewarm water). They grow best in the shade, although most species could also grow in some sunlight as long as they get enough water.
The colour of the leaves also depends on various factors related to the seasons (such as light intensity and temperature). For example, caladiums with (partially) coloured leaves (e.g. pink or white) may turn green due to circumstances.
It is normal for the leaves of a caladium to die after a certain period of splendour. However, this says nothing about the health of the rhizome, new leaves will emerge (under the right conditions and with the right care). Caladiums also go into hibernation indoors. When their leaves start to die, stop watering. Let the plant rest (i.e. mostly before winter) and resume watering as soon as new growth starts (from spring onwards), then the tuber can be repotted into fresh substrate.
Neither the plant nor the tuber is hardy!

  • MAGIC FICUS ELASTICA VARIEGATA

    MAGIC FICUS ELASTICA VARIEGATA

Variegated plants - does not matter whether they are in white (Albo), yellow (Aurea) or in any other colour are always pretty fascinating as one can never know what kind of variegation of the leaves will develop as next ...

Having grown this variegated Ficus Elastica I have noticed that every second leaf, which is coming is either "half-moon" or almost a "full-moon" ... It is kind of play between the plant and me ... Making me curious whether the "leaf logic" determined by the plant itself will be kept ... As one can never know...

Have you also experienced something similar with your ficus or some other plants?
